I was staying in South Yarra so I wake up around 8:30 and went to have a coffee in French Fantasies, not the best coffee in Melbourne, but if you are up to some french patisserie it is a good place.
Then I took the tram (number 8) to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and in 15 minutes I was there enjoying the temporary Degas exposition, beautiful, and also the rest of the museum.

I meet my friends around 13:00 to have brunch in Miss Jackson in St. Kilda, around. It was OK, but nothing really especial (especially the service). We walked to St Kilda Pier, where we spotted some penguins between the rocks at the end of the pier. If you can arrange your day better, it´s good to go during the sunset to this pier to see the penguins when they return after being hunting all day.

We walked down Acland Street, which is wonderful to have a beer, especially in summer and saw the Luna Park from the outside. We took bus 600 to go to Brighton Bathing Boxes. Careful because I thought it was close to the Brighton Beach Station, and not. Good that I google it before going there.
There is not much to see in Brighton but the bathing boxes and huge mansions (if you are interested).
Then I walked 15 minutes to catch the train to Southern Cross and from there took the sky bus to the airport (19 AUD$). In 30 minutes I was in the Tullamarine Airport to catch my flight back to Brisbane after this amazing 3 days in Melbourne.
