How to get there?
We took a train from Datong to Xian during the night that lasted 16 hours. It wash´t that hard, we bought the “soft sleeper” tickets and each of us had a bed in 1 room with 4 beds. The bathroom was OK, it had the latrina and WC option. It was the best option to us due to timing. There wasn´t direct flights from Datong to Xian. We left Datong at 17:30.
What to see?
We arrived at the train station at 9:30am. Of course the Terracotta Army was our main and only priority in this city.
To get there we took bus #914directly from the train station. If you stand in front of the station, the bus is on the right side. It cost 10¥ per person (8¥ for chineses) and lasted 1.5 hours. The stop is the last one of the route. Bus #306 also goes to the Terracotta army.
Once in there, we went first to pit 3, then pit 2 and left the best for the end: pit 1. Amazing place. For me it is a priority when planning your first trip to China.
After getting back to the bus station, we took bus #706 to the Muslim Quarter and walked from south to north, amazed by all the little food places on the street.
Our train to go to Chengdu was at 19:45 and we were ready at the train station at 19:00 after an amazing day in Xi’an.
