How and what to pack to go China?

China

With this post a new adventure bengins, starting with the packing; and by being as organized as I am (or that’s what I think), at this point, 30hr before the flight, everything is packed and my packing list has been checked quite a few times.

The destination is CHINA in August with 4 friends in our backpacker style (I’ll explain this style later). Therefore, articles’ quantity and weight are an important issue here, and after a few trips I had realized what I really use and need during my trips depending on the type of trips.

So, besides my “15 cosas que no pueden faltar en tu Maleta” post, here´s my detailed packing list to start this journey to China in summer:

CLOTHES AND SHOES:

  • 3 shirts. Preferible printed shirts, so it is easy to hide the dirt
  • 3 light pants. Perfect for the heat. I buy those kind of pants in “Natura” in Spain
  • 1 decent outfit for special party/dinner
  • Pijama
  • 4 lace panties. They dry faster
  • 2 pair of socks
  • Gym bras that dry faster than regular bras
  • 1 sweater, specially for the flight
  • 1 pashmina (very useful)
  • 1 pair of sneakers
  • 1 pair of sandals. Here the best ones for me
  • 1 Bathing Suit. Always, no matter where I go

TOILETRIES:

  • Deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion, shampoo, etc…as small as possible
  • Make up. The basics to look “natural” in the pictures
  • Hand Sanitizers
  • Sunscreen
  • Wet wipes
  • Lots of kleneex, since according to other bloggers it is not common in chinese public bathrooms

ELECTRONICS:

  • Ipad with material to read and movies to watch
  • Headphones
  • Reflex Camera with 35mm and 18-200mm lens, extra batteries and extra memory
  • Chargers
  • Flashlight

OTHERS:

  • Medicine. All the “just in case” and regular medicine
  • My “Mandarin Phrasebook” from Lonely Planet
  • Rain poncho
  • Hat
  • Micro Fiber Towel
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Sunglasses
  • Small backpack for daily use
  • Suitcase lock
  • Cash, you never know
  • I am travelling with all the directions written in english and chinese

China

Try to put the heavy articles in the bottom, don’t fold the clothes, roll it, and keep the electronics with you when travelling. I keep buying books but if I am travelling I only take the electronic version of it.

It seems like too many items when you type them individually, but at the end my backpack weight 11kg and the small one 5kg, which makes me feel proud of myself, I´m improving my packing with every trip.

Keep track of my trip to China….cheers
